- power limiter
- An engine protection device designed to prevent overstressing the engine because of excessive compressor outlet pressure during high-speed low-altitude running. When the compressor outlet pressure reaches its maximum value, that pressure is reduced by bleeding off air pressure from the acceleration control unit.During high-speed low-level flight, when compressor delivery pressure exceeds limits, the limiter opens against the spring force and bleeds off air pressure to the acceleration control unit (ACU) control capsule. The ACU at this stage reduces the pump stroke and thus the fuel supply.
